IDA (Individual Development Accounts) Training
Sessions Available for Native Communities

In 2009, First Nations Development Institute, First Nations Oweesta Corporation, and CFED offered Expanding Native Opportunity: Native IDA Initiative, a comprehensive training and technical assistance program to help Native communities design and implement Individual Development Accounts (IDAs).

Native IDA Introductory Sessions
To help Native organizations determine if starting an IDA program is appropriate for their community, the Native IDA Initiative featured a series of one- to two-hour introductory sessions which provided an overview of the benefits, and resource and time requirements of starting a program.

Three-Day Native IDA Training and Free Technical Assistance
On February 24-26, 2009, the Native IDA Initiative offered a national training in Albuquerque, NM to help Native organizations start, implement, and sustain Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) in their communities. Participants were provided with three days of expert training and also had access to free, customized technical assistance to help implement IDAs in their communities.

The Native IDA Initiative currently does not have any trainings planned. Check back to this website to find out about our next training event, or sign up for our informational updates.

The Native IDA Initiative is a partnership between First Nations Development Institute, CFED, First Nations Oweesta Corporation, and the CDFI Fund.
