First Nations Development Institute Internship Program
First Nations Development Institute is a Native American nonprofit economic development organization located in Longmont, Colorado with a field office located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. First Nations was founded in 1980 with the mission to assist Native communities in controlling their assets and in building capacity to direct their economic future. Our programs and strategies focus on assisting tribes and Native communities to control, create, leverage, utilize, and retain their assets.
First Nations periodically provides unpaid internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. These competitive internships are opportunities to learn more about First Nations’ work in the field of community economic development, Native philanthropy, banking and finance, and other areas. First Nations’ internships provide hands-on experience in building relationships in Native communities.
