NewsletterSpecial Edition 2012 - Give to First Nations During Cultures of Giving Donor Challenge & DOUBLE Your ImpactThere’s a positive trend in the air as the face of philanthropy is changing. Communities of color are giving more often and in larger amounts than ever before. According to the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, 63 percent of Latino households now make charitable donations, and African Americans give away 25 percent more of their income per year than whites. It’s all part of a groundbreaking movement to activate and organize giving within and on behalf of America’s communities of color—known as identity-based philanthropy. And we’re hoping the Native American population will join this bandwagon, along with the many others who support American Indian causes (you don’t have to be Native American to help of course!). For 10 days in April, First Nations will be part of Cultures of Giving Donor Challenge, an online giving campaign to support nonprofits that address high-priority issues in communities of color across the country. It celebrates America’s diverse traditions of giving while leveraging the impact of collective philanthropy to support communities in need. First Nations will be one of more than 20 respected nonprofits attempting to raise millions in web-based donations from April 17 through 26. During these 10 days, every dollar and donor will be worth more, as the W.K. Kellogg Foundation will match funds and offer awards. People will have a chance to make a real difference in the communities they care about, and we’re hoping you care greatly for Native communities. Please give during the Cultures of Giving Donor Challenge and you can DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT and make your dollars go twice as far. To help First Nations and the great work we do every day:
After the Challenge, please continue to support First Nations here. | |
