Shyla Grace Sheppard

82 Shyla Grace Sheppard, a fund associate with New Mexico Community Capital (NMCC), a venture capital fund, has played a vital and active role on the investment team since 2005. Ms. Sheppard focuses on early and expansion-stage investment opportunities across a broad range of industries. She assists the managing director in all aspects of the investment organization. Ms. Sheppard is active on the boards of Aero Mechanical Industries, American Clay, and Armed Response Team.

Ms. Sheppard also leads NMCC's efforts within Native American communities, including a new pilot tribal business investment fund. Through her various board roles and volunteer activities she promotes entrepreneurship and access to capital, youth financial literacy and education, and tribal business development. Ms. Sheppard serves on various boards, including the Junior Achievement-New Mexico Native American Initiative, the Stanford Club of New Mexico, and the Global Center for Cultural Entrepreneurship.

Ms. Sheppard attained her economics degree from Stanford University. She was raised on the Fort Berthold reservation in North Dakota and is a member of the Three Affiliated Tribes.
