Program Officer

Ruben Hernandez serves as a program officer for First Nations’ research, policy and asset-building department.  Ruben joined First Nations in September 2009 and collaborates with other staff to administrator projects focused on asset-building and family economic security and associated research and policy.

Prior to joining First Nations, Ruben served as a database manager and project coordinator for the American Indian College Fund. As a database manager, Ruben gained extensive knowledge of database and IT systems management.  As a project coordinator, he was directly responsible for administering seven grants to tribal colleges and assisted with three other grant projects.

Ruben is an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and resides in Northglenn, Colorado.
