First Nations Oweesta Corporation welcomes you to register for the 4th Annual Native CDFI Capital Access Convening, June 25-27, 2019, where we will provide practitioner-tailored training on topics focused on building capacity to access capital and networking opportunities. In addition, we will host a Native Awards Celebration Luau and a Bus Tour of the local Native Hawaiian communities! Thanks to the generosity of our donors and sponsors, we are able to make registration free. Additionally, our strategy for this convening is “no Native CDFI left behind,” so we will also provide as many travel stipends to organizations as possible, to help defray costs. That application will open next week!
We hope to see you at this national event along with Native CDFIs and Native American Financial Institutions from across the country!
We are so excited to be working closely with our partners, the Sovereign Councils of the Hawaiian Homelands Assembly (SCHHA) and the Center for Indian Country Development (CICD) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, allowing us to extend our convening offerings to not only Native CDFIs, but also to all Native American Financial Institutions (NAFIs). The CICD will host a NAFI networking reception in addition to a track of NAFI-related sessions.
This is an important year for us as First Nations Oweesta Corporation observes 20 years of service in supporting and growing the Native CDFI movement. We invite you to celebrate with us June 25-27 at our Annual Native CDFI Capital Access Convening on the lovely island of Kauai, where we will honor our shared indigenous heritage with our Native Hawaiian brothers and sisters. The Hawaiians have a word “pono” that conveys the idea of walking a righteous path, full of integrity and hope. It will be our joy to celebrate our 20th anniversary with those who have walked the pono path alongside us over the years.
