Brickman House

Brickman House joined First Nations in 2022 as a Program Officer for the Nourishing Native Foods and Health program. In this role, Brickman builds on his experience in economics, entrepreneurship, and sustainable community development.

Brickman most recently served as a 2021 fellow through the Climate Corps of the Environmental Defense Fund, where he focused on promoting sustainability and energy efficiency for minority and low-income townships. Before this, he worked with the Oneida Nation as a community outreach coordinator at Tsyunhehkwa. There, he engaged with the tribe before and during planting season, implementing organic growing practices and teaching community members about food sovereignty. Also for Oneida Nation, he served as a management trainee for the Environmental Land Division working to implement various projects and identify operational and program needs that could be supported by grant funding.

Brickman recently graduated from University of Colorado at Boulder with a Master’s in Business Administration and a focus on sustainability and real estate. While at CU-Boulder, he competed in the Rocky Mountain Real Estate Challenge presented by the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP, also known as the Commercial Real Estate Development Association). Brickman earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Utica College, in Utica, New York.

Brickman’s hobbies include cheering on the Green Bay Packers, fishing, golf, hunting, spending time in nature, and participating in multiple sports, especially lacrosse. As a young athlete, he was on the Jr.B Lacrosse League, Akwesasne Indians, and he was recruited to play on the lacrosse team at Utica College, which he did for four years. He continues to coach for local lacrosse teams near the Oneida Nation, as well as deliver community educational forums on the basics of lacrosse to tribes in South Dakota and Montana.

Brickman is also an avid traveler, having visited every Haudenosaunee reservation in New York and Canada, along with all tribes throughout Wisconsin, Colorado, New Mexico, North and South Dakota, and Montana.
