Lila Crank

Program Assistant

Navajo

Lila joined First Nations in March 2020 as a Program Assistant in the Longmont office for First Nations’ Native Agriculture and Food Systems Initiative. Her Navajo family is from Montezuma Creek, Utah, and her Jewish family is Ashkenazi; she prides herself on being an Indigenous Jew or, if you will, a NavaJew.

She is currently a student at Mount Holyoke College studying politics. Her academic and career plans focus on Indigenous affairs, public policy, and public interest law. Formerly, she has worked in policy research as an intern with Colorado Common Cause and in education as an Assistant Teacher at The Partners Program in Oakland, California, as well as a teacher at Congregation Bonai Shalom’s Hebrew School. She is passionate about Indigenous representation in education, having honest and open conversations about hard topics, making people laugh, and True Crime TV shows.
