Tohono O’odham

As a project coordinator, Rio Ramirez assists project teams in providing technical assistance, outreach, and coordination with First Nations’ community partners. Rio comes to First Nations with over 15 years’ experience working Tribal governments, communities, and individuals.

He most recently served as program coordinator and health education specialist for the Tohono O’odham Nation, and was involved in many programs including suicide prevention, cancer prevention, Head Start, and Tribal events in the community. Rio has also served in various capacities for the Native American Rights Fund, Division of Early Childhood, Boys & Girl Club of the TON, and the YMCA of Boulder Valley.
