To assist services provided to First Nations by collaborating in the planning and execution of the 2026 Food Sovereignty Summit in Suquamish, WA from August 24-27, 2026.
The ultimate purpose is to 1.) Increase the number of youth in the community who can identify and gather traditional Suquamish subsistence foods. 2.) Retain traditional knowledge of Suquamish traditional foods and gathering places. 3.) Leverage tribal employees and community members as mentors of Suquamish Tribal Youth.
The ultimate purposed is to 1.) Increase the level of respect that our youth are showing each other through highlighting the important roles we each play "teachings of the Longhouse" 2.) Increase the number of youth familiar with and comfortable using with the Suquamish Tribal language and 3.) Leverage the knowledge and support of many tribal programs to create a culture program that is rich and meaningful to the youth who participate.

2015 Suquamish Tribe Community Smokehouses Project
The ultimate purpose of this project is to create tribal community smokehouses with mentorship opportunities that will eliminate economic and educational barriers which have prevented tribal members from being able to include safely smoked and preserved traditional foods in their diet throughout the year, and, thus, will retain and increase the Suquamish cultural knowledge of smoking foods for preservation, thereby increasing food security within the community and increasing participation in traditional Suquamish food systems.

To implement a Soup and Sandwich Program to offer hot meals to youth who utilize the tribal youth center, homebound persons, and other community members. Meals will be provided to a minimum of 50 tribal members weekly at the tribal and youth centers.
