This project supports the Tubatulbals of Kern Valley in stewarding the lands and waters of Kwolokam (the place of the duck). It will strengthen the tribe's food sovereignty efforts and intergenerational language learning by reconnecting tribal members with their ancestral homelands.

The project expands pathways for Native students and legal professionals by providing legal education, mentorship, training, and technical assistance that strengthen Native communities, increase access to legal careers, and build capacity for effective tribal governance and justice.

This project aims to protect traditional Yup’ik, Dena’ina, and Alutiiq ways of life that depend on the Bristol Bay Watershed and all it sustains, most notably Bristol Bay’s wild salmon - the largest salmon run in the world - from harmful mining activities.
