Impact Report 2023

Celebrating Native Knowledge and Traditions

In 2023, First Nations invested over $13.5 million in grassroots initiatives, distributed 326 grants, and reached over 54,000 changemakers throughout Indian Country. First Nations also awarded an additional $873,000 through the Luce Indigenous Knowledge Fellowship and the Justice Through the Eyes of Native Artists Project. We are truly grateful to our community partners and dedicated allies for making 2023 another impactful year.

The theme of our 2023 Impact Report is Protecting, Preserving, and Prevailing. For generations, Native knowledge and traditions have allowed communities to thrive, culturally and economically, and to be effective stewards of their ancestral lands and natural resources. As we work to build a sustainable future for humankind and all living things, these traditional practices and values hold the answers our World needs.

In this year’s report we celebrate traditional knowledge holders and community leaders who are keeping Native languages alive and growing, protecting our ancestral lands, building a movement for Native American justice and so much more.

Thank you to our dedicated community of advocates. Your investment in Native talent, skills, resourcefulness, and ingenuity has made all of this possible.
