Matthew Concho

Intern

Pueblos of Acoma, Laguna, and Zuni

Matthew Concho (Pueblos of Acoma, Laguna, and Zuni) is the student intern at First Nations’ Albuquerque office. Since September 2022, Matt has supported First Nations across many program areas, with an aim toward building his professional experience and reconnecting with Native communities.

Born in Albuquerque, but raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Matt left behind the humid summers along the Mississippi in exchange for the windy valley under the Sandias. Here, he attends the University of New Mexico (UNM) as a full-time student majoring in construction management. Matt is involved with multiple on-campus clubs and organizations and some work with the local community. Matt likes to do all he can and is able to keep all his ducks in a row with a smile on his face.

He is passionate about the logistics of movement and does research on his loves for cycling, public transit, passenger rail, and his dream plan for an American passenger rail network. When he is able to slow it down, he enjoys writing and playing video games with long-time friends.
