Associate Director of Institutional Development
The Associate Director of Institutional Development provides strategic oversight and leads the planning, organization, and execution of institutional development initiatives aligned with the organization’s values and priorities. This role collaborates with the Vice President of Development to co-develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy with a primary focus on institutional giving. The Associate Director works cross-functionally with Development, Programs, Finance, and Communications teams to advance fundraising efforts and strengthen organizational capacity as part of a growing development department.

California Tribal Fund Program Officer
The Program Officer plays an integral role in assisting and supporting the Vice President of Programs and works collaboratively with other program officers in the administration and implementation of the California Tribal Fund’s program initiatives. The California Tribal Fund program supports California Tribes, both federally and non-federally recognized, and California tribal controlled nonprofits across four strategic initiatives: Stewardship of Ancestral Lands and Waters, Fire and Drought, Tribal Community Food Sovereignty, and Culture.

Development Officer
The Development Officer supports the strategic fundraising efforts of First by enlisting support for the organization’s key programs and initiatives with an emphasis on individual, planned, and monthly gifts. The Development Officer identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual donors and prospects in accordance with goals set in First Nations’ strategic plan. The Development Officer develops brief proposals and reports to funders to demonstrate impact of investments and spends the majority of time interacting with supporters through virtual and in-person visits. The Development Officer will work collaboratively with the individual giving team to ensure departmental goals are achieved.

Grants Development Officer
The Grants Development Officer supports First Nations’ development team in identifying and securing opportunities by coordinating grant writing; providing data and reports to support prospect research; managing the grant management process for federal and private grant opportunities; coordinating report writing with Program Officers or grant contractor; monitoring development activities and goal attainment; and identifying potential new funding sources. The Grants Development Officer reports to the Senior Program Officer of Institutional Development and works in close collaboration with First Nations’ development, finance, program, and administrative staff.
