Description

The ultimate purpose of the P of I Project is to retain S'Klallam cultural knowledge and practices by transmitting the knowledge to younger generations of S'Klallams, thereby increasing cultural awareness among S'Klallam youth. This is achieved through the creation of experience-based day and overnight trips to places of cultural significance to the Tribe. Tribal Elders and other cultural mentors are utilized as Project advisors and teachers, helping to define the educational content of the youth trips. The project leverages existing human, programmatic, and material resources to enhance P of I Project outcomes.
