Funding Area

Description

The ultimate purpose is to 1) create greater awareness among tribal youth of traditional knowledge and cultural values of their tribes, 2) utilize tribal knowledge and leadership as well as expert knowledge to train youth in traditional practices and demonstrate methods for documenting cultural values, 3) increase awareness among all tribes in the Bears Ears region of the value of native wisdom and traditional cultural practices to land management and ecological research, 4) leverage project training and lessons by involving youth and elders of multiple Bears Ears' region tribes in the project.
