White Earth Band of Chippewa
This project will increase the market presence of our artists and creates a way for artists to utilize the communal space at the Gizhiigin Arts Incubator to retain and advance traditional arts practices. The project also leverages existing regional partnerships to broaden economic and artistic growth opportunities for our artists.

The ultimate purpose is to 1) create a new tribal food system, 2) utilize an approach that involves tribal planning and development assets, with an emphasis on youth and elder roles in the system developed, 3) increase youth and elder participation in definiing and launching the food system, and 4) leverage regional tribal (Minnesota) expertise 5) leverage White Earth community expertise

Gizhiigin's ultimate purpose is create a viable arts economy on the White Earth Reservations by utilizing our network of artists, consultants, other professionals and local service organizations to build the community's capacity, increasing access to arts and media for our youth, leveraging Gizhiigin's resources to establish a foothold in the arts market (market access for artists), and retaining control and advancing of our cultural interest.

The purpose of the Gizhiigin Art Place Project is to assist, promote and foster the growth and development of local artists and entrepreneurs with a unique focus on community involvement while increasing the visibility of the local artists and entrepreneurs The Project will succeed in its purpose by giving the clients and all those involved a viable skill set and valuable business knowledge that will allow them to use their creative abilities to make a viable living.
