Land Back to Penobscot Nation

A significant milestone for Penobscot Nation, the first phase of the Wáhsehtəkʷ land return is now complete, with 11,297 acres of homelands transferred to the Nation. The broader effort seeks to return more than 30,000 acres surrounding the East Branch of the Penobscot River, supporting the Nation’s continued stewardship and care of these lands and waters for future generations.
