Jay Calhoun is Founder and Managing Partner of Apis Holdings, a Tulsa-based strategic advisory and private investment firm. He has served on the boards of Oseberg (real asset software), Enhatch (surgery software), FACT (risk management software), Twelve Clans (tribal sovereign wealth), Laguna Development Company (tribal sovereign wealth), New Mexico Community Capital (state-based venture capital), Henry Zarrow International School Foundation (bilingual education), i2E (state-based venture capital), 36 Degrees North (entrepreneurship), Junior Achievement (entrepreneurial education), Tulsa Innovation Labs (economic development), Oklahoma Venture Resource Council (economic development), Oklahoma American Indian Chamber of Commerce (economic development) and the Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma (business education).
Prior to forming Apis, Jay founded and ran the private investment program for the largest sovereign tribal nation in the US. Jay began his career as an offshore roustabout, management consultant and
M&A investment banker.
Jay received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and his Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. An 8th generation Oklahoman, Jay is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and resides in Tulsa with his wife, Tracy, their children, Maddie and Heath, and yellow lab, (The Greatest American) Hero.
