Kim Begay joined First Nations in August 2023 as a database coordinator and transitioned to donor relations coordinator in February 2024.
Before coming to First Nations, she spent seven years in the museum field, most recently as the assistant collections manager at the Wheelright Museum of the American Indian in Santa Fe, New Mexico. There her work involved maintaining records of accession and deaccession, as well as photographing and digitizing collections. Past museum positions include manager of visitor experience at Explora in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellow at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona; and collections registrations specialist at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque.
Kim has a Bachelor of Arts in art history from Arizona State University.
She is a movie buff and her interests include going to concerts, crafting, roller skating, and hiking with her husband, William, and two dogs, Harry and Apollo.
