Nissa Martinez joined First Nations in December 2025, bringing nearly 15 years of human resource experience across both nonprofit and for-profit entities.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Writing from the University of Tampa and maintains dual certification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Her credentials include the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), and SHRM-CP. In 2024, she also earned SHRM’s California Law Specialty credential.
Outside of her work at First Nations, Nissa is often found on the yoga mat. She has practiced yoga for over 10 years and became a 200-hour registered yoga teacher in July 2025. Specializing in adaptable practices and healthy aging, she brings these principles into her leadership philosophy, emphasizing balance, accessibility, and well-being across all stages of life and career.
