Modoc Nation

To strengthen our Homelands Dept to lead land return, restoration, and cultural monitoring in our homelands, building stewardship capacity with our regenerative crew lead, trained cultural monitors, and intergenerational knowledge-sharing that guide present and future care for lands and waters.

To strengthen the Modoc Nation’s capacity to secure and leverage funding that protects, regenerates, and sustains our sacred homelands by integrating TEK and asserting sovereignty. This will enable us to heal and reconnect our people to ancestral lands for the well-being of future generations.

Gen Ops

This project will help create first foods availability by removing derelict fencing posing risk to struggling interstate mule deer and state-focus pronghorn herds. It will also increase sacred botanical resources by controlling trespass cattle grazing and leveraging the value of regenerative grazing with goats now and buffalo in the future.

This project will enable Modoc Nation to increase their capacity to restore and protect their Tribe's ancestral lands.

These grant funds will be utilized to support the Tribe as it develops water infrastructure systems and resources for the Modoc Nation Ranches in response to current drought and wildfire conditions in Siskiyou County.

This project will create a shared understanding of the lands the Modoc Nation now owns to allow them to retain, utilize, and control their natural resources and increase their ability to leverage other activities and support to eliminate neighbors' ability to take advantage of these lands without benefiting the Tribe.
