United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma

This community project will create food sustainability and distribution, add leveraging to increase traditional/cultural food availability, add to current seed bank for conservation and utilization will provide a building capacity to better manage, educate, control and conserve resources our Tribal Elders and Youth can have access to traditional/culturally fresh foods.

We will provide the development of a client working towards their life goals; workshops with topics such as career readiness, networking, job coaching, educational resources, public school value, and saving for your future. To help young tribal members identify a goal(financial literacy and family budgeting), uncover their individual strengths and understand and implement the steps they need to take to make the goal a reality on a short term basis.Assist students in financial literacy including career paths and counseling to develop an action plan for reaching self-sufficiency along with milestones to mark progress.Individual Financial/Education Plans will be developed for participants.
