This project will leverage resources and increase the value of instruction at the Immersion Program classrooms by documenting “real-time” language and culture and create four seasonal lesson plan booklets in the Ojibwe language.

Attending the 2019 International Conference of Indigenous Archives, Libraries, and Museums will help foster strategies as to how our nonprofit organization can better serve and assist the Hibulb Cultural Center in meeting its mission through fundraising and other efforts.

Participation in the conference will increase the awareness of existing organizations in the industry, different funding opportunities, and innovative strategies, for overcoming specific obstacles. The information provided will be brought back to the board of directors, whom will then utilize the information provided to better build an internal strategic plan.

The purpose of this project is to create Indigenous Breastfeeding Counselors (IBC) in Indigenous communities across the state of North Dakota. The project will increase accessibility of breastfeeding education and support to Indigenous mothers and families, while maintaining best cultural practices best known by those respective community members/IBCs.

Participating in the conference will help increase our programs awarenesses of opportunities and best practices for arts and cultural revitalization and preservation. Our program will be able to utilize this knowledge to enhance our current programing and create new programing.

This conference will create opportunities for our two Community Programs Coordinators to network with other Native American organizations in the country. This will help us better utilize our artistic capital. It will give them an opportunity to learn how to increase our capacity of using art as commerce.

Attending the 2019 AIANTC will increase knowledge of PRACC staff in how art and culture are related to tourism in Indian Country. Staff will apply this new knowledge to assist in the creation of new projects on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

Participation in this conference will help AICHO create strategies to strengthen our strategies specific to tourism that will connect visitors to our region with Indigenous artists and entrepreneurs. The new ideas, techniques, and knowledge will be applied to strengthen existing and in development stage social enterprises operated by AICHO.

The primary goal of this professional development mini-grant is to enable The Keya Foundation to more efficiently and effectively calculate, track, and communicate nonprofit financial activity, thereby allowing Keya’s staff to spend more time on program work and less time on day-to-day financial management.

This project will increase tribal environmental asset control on or near Native lands.
