This project supports Crushing Colonialism’s Indigenous-led programs by sending two representatives to SOCAP Global, San Francisco, October 23-25, 2023 (https://socapglobal.com/events/socap23/). We will be developing partnerships with potential funders to increase organizational sustainability for our programs: #HireIndigenous, Decolonized Beatz, Frontline Journalism & Publishing, Talking Circles, and Multimedia Advocacy.
Conference Sponsorship to increase the capacity of University of Denver AISES members to travel to and participate in the AISES National Conference in October 2023.
Initiate conversation and community engagement to explore issues, challenges, and solutions to addressing preservation of Bering Sea marine resources.
Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians
This pilot project will extend our Entrepreneurship Programming to Choctaw Youth for the first time and allow us to evaluate the effectiveness of our approach while giving Choctaw youth training and hands-on experience in entrepreneurship and digital fabrication skills.
Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians
River cane is a cultural keystone species for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, but is threatened by development, agriculture, and a lack of cultural awareness. This project will foster intergenerational knowledge growth for EBCI youth from EBCI Elders with an overarching objective of acquiring land for river cane conservation.
This project will increase tribal environmental asset control on or near Native lands.
The purpose of the grant is to further the goals of helping the Saskinax̂ for their past, present, and future generations.
