2026 Midterm Election Voter Poll

2026 Midterm Election Voter Poll: Native American Voters

As part of the Research and Advocacy for Native Economic Justice program, First Nations continues to advance research that centers Native American perspectives and ensures Native communities are represented in the data informing national conversations, public policy, and decision-making.

Native American voters play an important role in elections across the country, yet their perspectives are often overlooked or inadequately represented in national polling. Understanding the priorities, experiences, and voting decisions of Native Americans requires research that recognizes the distinct political, cultural, and economic contexts of Tribal Nations and Native communities.

About the 2026 Midterm Election Voter Poll

First Nations is participating in the 2026 Midterm Election Voter Poll, a national research effort conducted in partnership with the African American Research Collaborative (AARC) and BSP Research to examine voter preferences, motivations, and policy priorities following the November 3, 2026, midterm elections.

The poll examines the issues influencing voters across the country, including economic concerns, healthcare, immigration, voting rights, and other national priorities.

Through our participation, First Nations seeks to ensure that Native American voters are meaningfully represented in national election research and that the distinct priorities and experiences of Native communities are reflected in the findings.

Why This Research Matters

Native American voters have distinct priorities that are not always captured in broader national election analyses. In addition to issues affecting voters nationwide, Native voters consider policies related to Tribal Sovereignty, land rights, economic opportunities, and the preservation of Native cultures and communities.

Findings from First Nations’ 2024 American Electorate Poll demonstrate the importance of these issues, with 78% of Native American respondents reporting that they considered tribal issues when voting.

The 2026 poll builds on this research and will provide updated

insights into Native American voting behavior, political priorities, and the issues shaping the electorate.

By making this information publicly available, First Nations seeks to strengthen understanding of Native American voters and provide tribal leaders, policymakers, researchers, advocates, and the public with data to support more informed decisions and greater accountability to Native communities.
