Blackfeet Eco Knowledge Inc.

This project will develop a tribal biocultural diversity crediting framework that integrates land return, carbon and biodiversity stewardship, and Blackfeet cultural knowledge, to strengthen Tribal Sovereignty, support community priorities, and promote long-term stewardship of tribal lands. 

This project supports analysis of stewardship strategies grounded in Blackfeet values, which will guide the organizational pursuit of land acquisition and co-stewardship opportunities with tribal, local, state, and federal partners, including the U.S. Forest Service.

Our project will support the planning and development of our land return biocultural crediting project. This project will create a pathway for tribes and ethical investors to partner in the return of Blackfeet lands for a sustainable effort at land, culture, language, and Bison rematriation.
