Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate

This project will consist of the planning and development of a co-stewardship agreement for the Sheyenne National Grasslands that has cultural and natural resource significance to the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate.

This project will leverage the Memorandum of Understanding between the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate and the USFWS for co-stewardship of the Waubay National Wildlife Refuge.

COVID-19 Response

The ultimate purpose of the project is to create a strong foundation for our tribal artists to become self-sustaining in their business pursuits. They will become educated by attending entrepreneurship training opportunities and gaining financial literacy and strategic marketing abilities to promote their products. We will utilize those educated skills to assist them in developing business plans to ensure economic self-sufficiency.
