Lakota Woglakapi Project serves primarily the Standing Rock Nation children, families, and tribal members as well as all Lakota Dakota speaking communities by our process of implementing an education experience through full language and cultural immersion. Our shared vision moves us towards Dakota/Lakota Language Normalization in our Communities, towards True Sovereignty & Self-Determination, and towards A Relevant Education That Empowers the Future of Our Nation. We do this through a year-round, community led, multi-generation learning experience.

The project will create a coherent Dakota/Lakota Pre-K immersion curriculum, utilizing age-appropriate language standards, and leveraging existing instructional materials to develop a complete framework and lesson script for teachers. The project will help retain the tribal language and increase access to high quality learning and teaching resources.
Spirit Lake Tribe, North Dakota
The project will utilize the newly created immersion curriculum to pilot educational best practices in the classroom, create a immersion teacher training strategy, increase access to high quality professional development, and leveraging staff and resources while transitioning from a program of SBC to a community serving school through SRCDC.

Sitting Bull College presently provides opportunities for artists to show what they do, market their products and services, and learns topics relevant to their success. However, these efforts have not been coordinated around a mission statement or a series of objectives. The purpose of this project is to create a community infrastructure that will more effectively market and coordinate the artist relevant programs and services to community artists and to increase the quality of the programs and services offered to community artists.
