Project Purpose The Newe Wa’aipe Nanamainka Camp reclaims Shoshone coming-of-age womanhood ceremonies through a holistic based approach that centers Shoshone teachings called Newe Deniwappeh. We center matrilineal kinship on Newe Sogobia or Shoshone Homelands and disrupt ongoing colonization by engaging with land-based knowledge and to reconnect young women to their matrilineal lines.
