Native Nonprofit Day is May 19!

May 19 is Native Nonprofit Day!

First Nations is excited to join Native Ways Federation in celebration of the second annual Native Nonprofit Day.

In this video, First Nations’ President and CEO Mike Roberts explains that by investing in Native-led nonprofits, we can support solutions that are created and designed by Native communities themselves.

Happening May 19, Native Nonprofit Day is a giving initiative aimed at increasing support for Native-led organizations nationwide. The campaign encourages donors to give to nonprofits directly through Native-led organizations’ donate pages or through their own fundraisers.

Native-led nonprofit organizations are often overlooked when philanthropic foundations dole out their yearly donations. According to a report by the Center for Effective Philanthropy, 67% of foundation leaders say they provide little or no funding to organizations serving Native communities.

We join NWF in asking all Native-led nonprofits to use #NativeNonprofitDay, #GiveNative, & #SupportNativeLed in their fundraising efforts leading up to and on Native Nonprofit Day.
