Brandi joined First Nations in July 2026 as a Program Officer for the Stewarding Native Lands Program. Brandi is a proud enrolled member of the Kul Wicasa Oyate (Lower Brule Sioux Tribe) with lineage to the Hunkpati Oyate (Crow Creek Sioux Tribe) and spent her childhood years on the Rosebud Reservation. She comes from a family who has devoted their lives to serving Native communities in the Great Plains, and she mirrors their passion. She began her career in public service working at the New Orleans Health Department shortly after graduating with a Master’s in Public Health from Tulane University. After moving on to the Food and Nutrition Service, she worked as the sole Native Program Specialist in the nation supporting the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations. During her time at Food and Nutrition Service, she supported the development of the department-wide cultural competency trainings and took part in cross-departmental presentations at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advocating for additional funding and support for Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations program operators. Finally, Brandi spent a year at the University of Colorado-Boulder as the Program Manager for Native and Indigenous Students with the primary focus of creating places of belonging for students with indigenous backgrounds and bringing indigeneity to the forefront of campus.
In her free time, Brandi enjoys watching sumo wrestling, beading, and doing Pilates.
