Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe

This project will support the Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe’s forestry department scale internal capacity and management skills to effectively steward the Tribe's 3,000 acres. This project will support staff capacity, resource planning, and exploration of new USFS funding and networking opportunities.

The Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe will utilize these grant funds to further food sovereignty and TEK practices of land management for the Tribe. The projects will protect and promote resilient cultural use and recreational areas and ensure ability to access these locations as the climate changes.

This project will increase the efficiency of our produce production through the purchase of advanced gardening equipment, while also creating a new poultry harvesting program to supplement our garden.
