Webinar 2
Native Farm to School Policy Report — Leveraging Policy for Native Food Sovereignty, Education, and Empowerment
Native foodways are a source of strength and sovereignty that ensures cultural continuity and community resilience. While federal policies imposed upon Native communities have historically undermined Indigenous foodways and exacerbated health disparities, recent community-led achievements have underscored the potential use of policy to advance Native food sovereignty.
This webinar explores the history of federal Indian policy to better understand how we got here, and highlights policy pathways to address harm and rebuild traditional food systems. It also offers a preview of a forthcoming policy report that calls upon Native Farm to School stakeholders to prioritize policy as a powerful tool to drive change.
