NAI Gen Ops

This project will 1) retain the current program components and participants and 2) leverage program resources to create a training handbook and provide training to program participants so they may graduate to teacher's aids.

This project increases our Tribe's participation building food sovereignty by improving access, monitoring contaminants in traditional foods, supporting Elders’ mentoring of Tribal members in cultural activities, and using monitoring data for Tribal Beneficial Uses to protect local water quality. This proposal creates a program to mitigate barriers to food sovereignty.

The ultimate purpose of this project “Serving the Whole Child” is to provide a strong language immersion environment in which Cochiti children have the ability to honor their heritage by using a comprehensive cultural and academic curriculum that focuses on both the student’s academic success and supports their Keres fluency.

This project will create a draft caribou monitoring plan to develop a monitoring program, retaining local expertise to enhance the co-management capacity of Igiugig Village with the National Park Service. By leveraging traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) alongside scientific data, this effort will increase our control over crucial decision-making processes.

This project will support the Lower Brule Digital Archive, the mission of which is to gather documents associated with Lower Brule – lands, people, history – anything that can help fill in the enormous gaps in knowledge during the many years of forced removal.
